Speech practice friend · Ages 2–10

Practice words and clearer talking with a friend who talks back

The friend asks if you want a story. Yes starts a long tale you help steer. No stays a playful chat. Little kids get simpler words. Older kids get a richer adventure. Educational play at home, with you nearby.

  • Pronunciation practice
  • Early words
  • Bigger vocabulary
  • Curious conversation
  • Stories you steer

How practice works

A short call is early language practice: hearing a word, trying it, and being understood. It is educational play, not a lesson plan and not a therapy session.

  1. Step 1

    Listen

The friend says one word clearly, a little slowly, inside the game. No flashcards, no score.

  2. Step 2

    Your child tries

They say it back when they want to. A wobbly try still counts. The friend never calls a sound wrong.

  3. Step 3

    The friend models it again

They repeat the word once, celebrate the attempt, and keep playing. You stay nearby.

What you can customize

Set a first name and an age from about 2 to 10. Add goals and up to three words. Stories are on unless you turn them off: the friend asks, then keeps a long tale going. Off means shorter play.

  • Little kids: clearer sounds, new words, one specific word
  • Older kids: bigger vocabulary and a richer conversation
  • Stories on by default, or shorter practice if you turn them off
Set up for my child

A sample day

After breakfast, a few minutes with Luna. A child about 4, or a call with no age saved, drops straight into a story and hears their name in it. Now and then Luna asks, “Can you say rainbow?” A child 5 or older gets a real choice. End the call while it is still fun.

Captions stay on so you can see the word if the room is noisy. Tomorrow can be the same word, or a new one. Short and often beats a long drill.

No stranger chat

Your child talks with a character, not with other people. There is no open profile and no friend requests.

The child does not browse

The call has no web search. You hold the account and the card. The child never types an email.

Practice, not a diagnosis

If you are worried about speech, that conversation belongs with your pediatrician or an SLP. Talkicorn can keep practice pleasant while you decide.

Try it, then keep the practice going

Guests can talk for about 90 seconds. After that, add a card for 24 hours free — you are not charged yet — then $19.99 a month. Cancel before the free day ends and there is no charge.

A home practice buddy is meant to cost far less than a typical private tutor or speech-language session, which often runs about $50–$80 or more per visit. That is general market context, not a price quote. Talkicorn is not therapy, not a speech-language pathologist, and not medical care.
