For parents
A phone call, not a feed.
Talkicorn is a voice visit with a character. Your child talks. A friend talks back, often inside a story they help steer.
Step 1
Set up, then tap a friend
Setup is optional and takes about a minute. The friend uses that name and those words in a playful call. Guests can talk for about 90 seconds. That window is a soft gate, not a score.
Step 2
Talk
Calls play ready-made adventures. Ages 4 and under, including a call with no age saved, hear the story straight through, with pauses to try a word. Ages 5 and up can help choose what happens next.
Step 3
A grown-up can keep the day going
Then it is $19.99 a month. Cancel anytime. Cancel before the free day ends and the card is not charged. The child still never browses the web.
Voice practice
The microphone turns on for the call and stops when you tap End. The friend asks if they want a story. Yes starts a long back-and-forth tale. No stays playful. Little kids get simpler words. Older kids, through about 10, get a richer scene. Turn stories off in setup for shorter practice. If a model key is configured, a reply can be rewritten in the same voice, still with no web browsing. The child path never searches the internet.
When xAI is configured, Grok listens and Eve speaks. Otherwise you hear the browser demo voice, and the call says so. Chrome's recognizer may use the browser vendor's speech service. That limit is spelled out on the safety page.
Pronunciation and vocabulary
Practice here means hearing a word and saying it back, once or twice, inside a conversation. A friend might ask for rainbow, stomp, or banana. If they hear it, they say so. If not, they offer one more listen and then let the chat move on.
Vocabulary shows up the same way: colors, animals, play, family, school. She asks small questions so a child has a reason to use a word, not a list to recite. For ideas you can use without the app, start with practicing pronunciation at home and vocabulary without drills.
Parent controls
Sit with your child and tap End when you want. Guests get about 90 seconds. A parent can add a card for 24 free hours, then $19.99 a month with 750 voice minutes. Near that limit we ask a grown-up, after the current sentence finishes. One extra 60 minutes is available once a month. More minutes are an add-on, or you can wait for the next month.
The parent account is an email and password stored on this browser. It is not a child profile, and it does not follow you to another device yet.
Talkicorn is not a speech therapist. If you are unsure whether practice is the right next step, read when to talk with an SLP.
